Shen Mi, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, led a survey tour to several communities in SIP on Sept 5 to learn about the progress and outcomes of a number of projects aimed at improving local residents’ well-being.
The survey team visited Linglongwan Community on the north bank of Jinji Lake where they learned details about several renovation projects designed to enhance fire prevention and improve the functions and appearance of several residential buildings.

The survey tour to Jingyuannan Community focused on safety measures for garages, aimed at urging long-acting safety management mechanisms.
The survey team also visited the service station at Qianshuiwan Business Street which offers outdoor workers such as delivery riders, sanitation workers and taxi drivers a place to take a rest and get the help they need.
At Xingchenbei Community, the survey team gained knowledge of the community’s efforts to improve charging facilities for electric vehicles and increase parking spaces for non-motor vehicles.
At Wenhuiyuan Community, the last relocation community in Xietang Sub-district, the survey team learned details about the community’s efforts and achievements in managing rental houses and curbing illegal appropriation of housing property.
Shen said efforts should be enhanced to tackle problems that hinder the improvement of people’s livelihood, and regular working mechanisms should be adopted to improve the quality of residents’ lives and ensure effective grassroots management.
